My First Guitar

My first guitar was a Takamine F360 (Martin D-28 Lawsuit Model) that I still have and play today. I remember I had borrowed a Sears and Roebuck guitar from my cousin and was learning a few chords. I guess I was showing some promise and my parents decided to buy me a guitar. My Uncle played in a bluegrass band and one of the other pickers sold guitars. I came home one day and the man showed up with a guitar in a box. I remember that the guitar cost $100 bucks and my grandfather bought me a case -the case cost as much as the guitar. Again I still have both the case and guitar. Many times over the years when I was in my teens and early twenties when I didn't have the money to go and do - I always had my guitar and it gave me hours of companionship. So here I am today. I'm selling guitars. If you think I am in this for the money - think again. I want to be able to share with as many people possible that same feeling I had when I got my first guitar - or the guitar of my dreams (Les Paul)that I bought for my son a few years back. I love it when customers call or e-mail when their guitars come in telling me how excited they are about their guitars. Everybody is different - one guy gets excited over a Dot and another is crazy for a Gretsch. That is what makes this great big world go round. Till next time. - play on! Jerry
